FEMININE TEEN BATH
What a joy to design for the best design client ever: a very sweet teenage girl standing at the threshold between girlhood and becoming.
This darling bathroom renovation is a cross section of ‘not-a-girl’ grown-up fixtures and finishes with ‘not-yet-a-woman’ feminine butterfly accents … all tied up with a bow. The goal was to create a space that felt elevated and timeless, yet tender and personal — a room that honors who she is now while gently stretching toward who she is becoming.

Practical, but boring, the original space was a standard builder-grade snore. Lacking personality in every way imaginable, the renovation reimagined this bath into a layered, feminine retreat for a girl who deserves a sanctuary.
The primary challenge was transforming a small footprint with standard finishes into something that felt elevated, personal, and enduring without skewing juvenile. Honey oak cabinetry was replaced with a custom cherry vanity with a furniture feel. Her childhood bathtub transformed into a luxe marble-clad shower with a custom toe niche.
To soften the maturity of the material palette, playful butterfly hardware, a romantic bow mirror, and a sculptural floral light fixture lend whimsy without kitsch. The result is a space that balances refinement with sweetness: youthful and feminine in details, but grounded in timeless materials that are designed to grow with her.
